No Adalo URL? Upload Your Own Screenshots Instead
Most of the time, Adalo Studio captures screens straight from your live Adalo app: you paste your share URL, navigate to a screen, and click a slot. But that's not the only way to get screenshots into Studio.
If you already have screenshots — from the iOS Simulator, the Android Emulator, a real device, or any other app entirely — you can upload them directly. No URL required.
Here's how.
Step 1: Open the Screenshots Tool
From your dashboard, open the Screenshots tool. At the top you'll see two source tabs: Adalo App and iOS / Android. The Adalo App tab is the live-capture flow. To upload your own images, click the iOS / Android tab.
Step 2: Pick Your Platform
Under the iOS / Android tab, choose whether you're working on iOS or Android. This sets the export dimensions correctly later, so pick the one that matches the store you're submitting to.
Step 3: Drag and Drop — or Browse
You'll see a row of slots. To add an image, you have two options:
- Drag and drop a screenshot file straight from your computer onto any slot.
- Click the slot (or the Upload button) to open a file picker and choose an image.
Studio accepts PNG, JPG, and WebP files. The image drops into that slot instantly — no upload spinner, no waiting.
Step 4: Mix and Match if You Want
The uploaded image lands in the same timeline that live-captured screens use. That means you can mix sources freely: capture a couple of screens from your Adalo app, upload a couple you already had, and arrange them in whatever order tells the best story.
Step 5: Frame, Template, and Export
From here, everything works exactly like the capture flow. Pick one of the eight templates, add your headline and subtitle, adjust colors and the phone frame, and watch it preview live. When you're happy, export store-ready PNGs at the exact dimensions Apple and Google require.
Why This Matters
Uploading your own screenshots means Studio isn't only for Adalo apps. If you built something in another tool, took screenshots on a real device, or want to reframe assets you already exported, you can still get professional, store-correct screenshots in a few minutes — without Figma, Photoshop, or a designer.
