How to Publish an Adalo App: The Complete Playbook
You've clicked "Publish" inside Adalo. Now what?
For a lot of makers, this is where the process stalls. Here's a playbook to work through it systematically.
Part 1: Screenshots
Both stores require screenshots before you can submit. Apple requires at least one set for the iPhone 6.9" display at 1320×2868.
What to show: your five most important screens. Think about the user's journey — discovery, core value, depth, delight, and a call-to-action screen.
What to avoid: splash screens, loading states, settings screens, or anything that makes your app look incomplete.
Part 2: App Information
- App Name: 30 characters. Include your primary keyword if it fits naturally.
- Subtitle / Short Description: 30 characters (Apple) / 80 characters (Google). Your core value prop.
- Keywords: Apple gives you 100 characters. Use all of them. Commas, no spaces.
- Long Description: Up to 4,000 characters. Lead with the strongest benefit.
- Support URL: A page where users can get help.
- Privacy Policy URL: Required by both stores if your app has accounts or collects data.
Part 3: Legal Documents
Privacy Policy: Required if your app has user accounts, collects location data, processes payments, or connects to third-party services. Must be hosted at a public URL.
Terms of Service: Recommended if your app has accounts, subscriptions, or user-generated content.
Adalo Studio generates both from a short questionnaire and saves them to a URL you can use for submission.
Part 4: Age Ratings and Data Safety
Apple's age rating questionnaire asks about violence, mature content, gambling, and other categories. Answer honestly — Apple's review team will flag inconsistencies.
Google's data safety section asks what data your app collects and whether users can request deletion. Adalo Studio generates suggested answers based on what you told it about your app.
The Mistakes That Cause Rejections
- Screenshots that don't match the actual app
- Privacy Policy missing required disclosures
- Age rating inconsistencies
- Missing or broken support URL
- Placeholder text in your listing
Work through this playbook once and you'll know exactly what to prepare. The second submission always goes faster.
